Learn how to use readily available materials make a sifting screen in between the commonly available sizes of hardware cloth.
1/2” and 1/4” hardware cloth are readily available across the US. What if you need to screen some soil to an intermediate size such as 3/8”? You could try to track down mesh or a sieve of the correct size. But what if you’d like to get the job done without wasting a lot time, spending a bunch of money and preferably this weekend? There is a way. In this video I will show how to use commonly available hardware cloth to make a screen or sieve capable of sorting material between the standard sizes.
Is this screen going to be hyper accurate? No. For precise sifting you should be using a screen or sieve with circular holes. Which is a subject I’ll cover in a future video.
