Turning A Nice Piece Of Ash Into A Wood Carver’s Mallet - Woodturning

Watch a piece of ash be quickly turned into a beautiful round wood carver’s mallet. This piece of ash has literally been rolling around my shop for more than 15 years. Originally harvested from a friend’s back yard tree, I intended to use it to make a small vase. When I couldn’t find my Wood Is Good brand carver’s mallet, I decided to make another mallet and this turning blank was ideal for the project. Solid, dry, no defects and just a bit of curly figure on one side. Let’s get Turning!
