Small woodturning projects are not necessarily easy or simple projects, although they can be. Woodturning as an art does have distinct advantages when working with small and unusual pieces of wood in pursuit of something great.
This is why woodturners of all sorts have a box of scraps we can’t part with. I dare say some (most?) of us have several overflowing boxes of scrap wood. Everything in the scrap bin could be used, which is why we keep them in the first place. And each piece is in need of a project.
